CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.

Business Challenge

Setting up a future-proof IT infrastructure with Office 365 cloud connection. Specific challenges: Timely implementation of complex requirements, ensuring mail routing across four different mail environments (2 x Lotus Notes, Exchange 2010, Exchange Online), merging the address books of the mail environments, collaboration between different locations and nationalities.

Future prospects

The KBC solution has created the basis for the further expansion of cloud services such as OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online.

Our company is very export-oriented, globally positioned with 35 locations worldwide and networked accordingly. Our IT infrastructure and the communication solutions and services within the group must meet these requirements. We were looking for a flexible, highly available solution that could replace our existing mail farms during ongoing operations. The project plan developed at the start was tightly scheduled and was adhered to right to the end.
