The Austrian Federal Theaters - wholly owned by the Republic of Austria - are Austria's largest theater organization. The Burgtheater with its branches Akademietheater and Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz, the Vienna State Opera and the Volksoper Wien, the Vienna State Ballet as well as the ART for ART theater service company are organizationally and strategically united under one roof. The Austrian Federal Theaters employ over 2,300 people, 900 of whom work in IT alone.
Business Challenge
The Bundestheater Holding or its facilities are heavily dependent on a well-functioning IT infrastructure. This applies to all areas: Stage technology, building technology, artist disposition, ticketing and much more. In order to be able to manage all of this securely and consistently, a highly available IT system is required. At the Federal Theaters, the IT has grown steadily over the years and became increasingly inhomogeneous. There was no central network management, there was no overview of the network as a whole, and maintenance work was time-consuming and resource-intensive.

With a Cisco DNA Center, the entire network - fully automated - is always in view, it can be managed centrally, problems and causes can be identified quickly, maintenance work is uncomplicated and network components can be replaced easily.

Future outlook
