Hubert Groß, UNI/FH Internship Program
"Digitization in industry - a chance to explore new career paths!"
My name is Hubert Groß, I am 36 years old and I am studying High Tech Manufacturing at the FH Campus Wien as a second degree.
My career so far includes an apprenticeship in the catering industry as well as a technically sound education in the course of my employment at the automotive supplier Magna in Lannach near Graz, in the course of which I completed my apprenticeship as a machine tool technician as well as the HTL mechanical engineering.
Through these activities, I have already been able to gain experience in very different industries.
Since my studies also include an internship semester, which I was able to complete at K-Businesscom, I had the opportunity to get to know another industry in the IT sector that was new to me. The main topic of the internship was "digitalization in industry".
Specifically, this gave me the opportunity to work on an ongoing smart office project, which is a joint project with the producer of office equipment, "Sedus". My work as a UAS intern at K-Businesscom included a varied range of tasks. First of all, I had to deal with new terms, since my educational focus is rather on technology, and was thus able to learn a lot of new things. Among other things, my job consisted of researching technical components, preparing documentation and instructions, and working on day-to-day projects. This also included working with other departments and sites, some of which were located abroad. For example, cooperation with the development office in Prague was on the agenda.
The internship was characterized not only by a varied and diverse range of tasks, but also by a high degree of independence. I was able to organize my tasks and working hours independently to a large extent, and the opportunity to work from home was also a very positive experience for me.
In summary, I can look back on a very exciting five months working at K-Businesscom, during which I gained my first insight into the IT industry and was able to learn a lot of new things. I am also grateful for the collegial cooperation in the team and the appreciation of my work that I received during this time. In addition, I am very fortunate that I will be able to continue working as a student employee after my internship ends and perhaps continue my professional career at K-Businesscom in the future.
